David Bailey the head of Bitcoin Magazine and a campaign worker for Donald Trump, stated that the ex-president will take part in the Presidential Roundtable dedicated to Domestic Bitcoin Mining. This event can be considered a turning point in Trump’s attitude to cryptocurrencies and the positioning of his campaign in favor of pro-crypto policies.
The CEO of Bitcoin Magazine, David Bailey stated through his social media pages, stressing the significance of the event as he called it historical. This roundtable is anticipated to have key stakeholders in the U. S. Bitcoin mining industry in attendance.
However, Bailey did not reveal the names of companies or persons that will be present at the roundtable. He emphasized that these industry leaders would make a strong first impression on the former President.
This development follows Trump's recent shift in attitude towards cryptocurrency. In May, at the NFT gala Trump expressed his newfound support for crypto stating that his campaign would accept cryptocurrency donations.
He also criticized President Joe Biden's understanding of cryptocurrency suggesting that Biden lacks awareness of the industry. Trump's commitment to the crypto space was further solidified as he vowed to halt the current administration's efforts to "crush crypto" and instead foster its growth within the U.S. preventing companies from moving overseas.
Bailey's announcement on social media underscored the significance of this engagement noting the industry's enthusiastic response. Bailey also stated that the mining industry has stepped up in a big way and they’re going to make a great first impression.
This is a clear attempt to incorporate cryptocurrency into Trump’s policies on the economy by merely participating in the roundtable. Even, he has researched on the concept of using Bitcoin to solve the U.S. national debt problem which is $35 trillion. This proposal shows that Trump has always been keen on using what he deemed as modern methods to solve some of the most persistent economic issues.
The Presidential Roundtable on Bitcoin mining scheduled for the future is a vivid example of the change in political events concerning cryptocurrency. Since Trump has recently signaled his support for cryptocurrencies, this event may very well lead to further comprehensive debate on the potential of digital currencies in the US economy. Given the fact that many of the key players in the industry should be in attendance, the roundtable is set to be a landmark event in the Politics and Cryptocurrency space.
