The Bitcoin and Crypto Market has seen a very uptrend in the Market with bitcoin reaching its all-time high and all Altcoins whether its AI Coins, Memecoins, or Digital Tokens each have seen an upward trend but the recent downturn of Bitcoin Prices from their all-time high of $73,835 on March 14 to a Price of $63,438 (As of 19 March 24) which is around 12% to 13% dip has made everybody think why crypto market is crashing, So let's explore the authentic reasons behind the Crypto market downturn.
Bitcoin is the pioneer of the crypto market or can be regarded as the founder of the cryptocurrency market. It was the First Cryptocurrency launched in 2009 By Satoshi Nakamoto. However, after the launch of Bitcoin, there are thousands of cryptocurrencies flooded the market whether it is AI Coins, Memecoins, or Digital Tokens. But now also the entire market’s ups and downs are decided by Bitcoin Price and hence the recent downturn in Bitcoin price due to the reasons given below are the main cause of the Crypto Crash:-
Pre Halving Retrace:- This is the third phase of Bitcoin Halving which was followed before every Bitcoin Halving whether it is in 2016 (38% decline)or 2020 (20% Decline). In this period there is a transient decline in Bitcoin Price just a few weeks before actual Bitcoin halving.
Short-Term Holders:- During the Bull run in the Crypto Market we have seen a surge in Short-term BTC holders which books profit and then liquidate their holdings causing a high supply of Bitcoin in the market and a drop in Bitcoin Price
The Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) is a branch of the Federal Reserve System that determines monetary policy direction through open market operations. The FOMC consists of seven members of the Board of Governors and five Federal Reserve Bank presidents.
The FOMC’s Meeting on 20th March 2024 and the decisions on the meeting impact the whole market whether it is crypto market or a Stock Market. Hence it is also one of the main reasons behind the Crypto market's recent downfall.
The NASDAQ-100 Index is a stock market index that includes 100 of the largest, most actively traded, non-financial companies that are listed on the Nasdaq Stock Market.
The Recent Dip in the Nasdaq 100 index of around 2% has a negative impact on the Crypto Market and hence results in the Crypto Crashing.
Thus these three can be regarded as the main reason behind the crypto Crashing however it is to be noted that crypto crashing is a very limited phenomenon and Crypto market as a whole is always in the upward trend.
