After the success of PixelTap, Pixelverse has launched its browser-based role-playing game beta—with TON integration.
On September 19, PixelTap by Pixelverse announced that it has launched a closed beta for its browser-based massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG). This marks a significant expansion beyond the messaging platform.
While the Pixelverse game itself is not bound to Telegram, it still features what the company says is the first implementation of The Open Network (TON) blockchain microtransactions outside of the messaging app. This ensures that PixelTap players can make a smooth transition.
Set 800 years in the future, the cyberpunk-themed game allows players to explore "Neopolis City," complete quests, and participate in an open economy. Designed as a more immersive game than PixelTap, which focused on tap-based mobile battles via Telegram and attracted tens of millions of players, Pixelverse aims to offer a richer experience.
The Pixelverse closed beta is currently available to early supporters, with plans for a public release in the fourth quarter. Players can look forward to pixelverse daily combos, including the popular "pixelverse daily combo today," and exciting updates.
Pixelverse launched its PIXFI token in July on Ethereum and plans to bring it to TON with a dedicated layer-2 scaling network called Pixelchain. While PIXFI isn't yet on TON, Pixelverse has distributed hundreds of thousands of NFT collectibles via PixelTap.
CEO Kirill Volgin highlighted their strategy to expand beyond Telegram, offering a richer gaming experience. Pixelverse will introduce staking rewards for earning more PIXFI tokens. Regular updates on withdrawals and uncommon NFTs are posted on their channels. With upcoming listings on major exchanges like Binance and Bybit, Pixelverse is set to become a significant player in the web3 gaming space.
