Pi Coin Network Mainnet Launch: Everything You Need To Know
Pi coin network, or just Pi Network, is a controversial crypto project that started in 2019. The network has seen much development since, however, we’re still awaiting the opening of its mainnet and native token.
The crypto project lets people carry out crypto mining. The crypto miners can use the project to mine cryptocurrencies from their smartphones.
Here are all details pertaining to the Pi Network’s recent developments:
The launch of Open Network is near and supposed to be the first ever milestone for Pi crypto. This will, however, happen when 15 million users pass the required KYC verifications and migrate to the mainnet. While this had a deadline, the date was shifted several times, which is now January 31, 2025. The Grace period extension is the Pi Network’s preparation to launch Open Network this quarter.
The team said they're “making excellent progress towards Open Network.”
The Pi Network is expected to transition to its Open Mainnet phase in early 2025. Once this is done, Zypto will function as a wallet as well as a payment solution. While the users are to be referred to as Pioneers, they will be very much able to send and receive Pi coins. Furthermore, this will also allow the users to directly buy goods and services from the app, which will further expand the real-world applications for the cryptocurrency.
Pi crypto Network has been reminding its users to sign the token acknowledgment, as the network is preparing to transit to the Mainnet. As per the Pi network, this is essential even for those Pioneers who are still waiting for their KYC results.
Some users may still need to make additional efforts for their identity confirmation. This includes undergoing liveness checks, that too, performed with proper video quality and lighting, crucial to smooth and hassle-free verification.
The Pi crypto Network has finally given the deadline, warning Pioneers of losing the bonus Pi attributed to their team’s crypto mining contributions, in case they fail to comply by the mentioned timings.
It’s just around 15 days left now and the users have been finally reminded to bring in active miners as per the countdown.
Two warnings the Pi Network has given to its users, called pioneers, include trusting only the information shared through Pi official channels. The developers have already created a dedicated safety page listing verified sources as well as URLs.
Second, the users have been warned to access their Pi wallets exclusively through the designated Pi Browser.
Lastly, mainnet delays and crypto crash may lead to price drops for the Pi coins.
