DOGS has partnered with Best Friends Animal Society, a nonprofit of the US, dedicated to the welfare of animals.

This new token project launched as a Telegram bot to reward users based on their Telegram accounts’ age. The launch aims to create a community within Telegram. The project also looks forward to popularizing meme coins. The DOGS memecoin’s inspiration is “Spotty,” a beloved meme character. Spotty is the creation of none other than the Telegram’s founder itself, Pavel Durov.

Donation Planned to Support Animals Worldwide

DOGS has planned to donate more than 6 billion tokens to world’s different nonprofit organizations. The plan will execute post the launch of a charity portal late November, while the tokens amount to around $4.5 million to be contributed for the good of animals around the world.

A Reflection of the Platform’s Commitment

DOGS is a memecoin built on The Open Network or TON. The new platform lets nonprofit organizations around the globe request funding. This very well displays the commitment of DOGS in contributing much of its unclaimed airdrop tokens to charitable initiatives.

The 6 million tokens and more will be distributed to the select organizations at the current rate over the course of the year, after a thorough approval process.

The Partnership – Call to Action for Crypto Community

A significant part of this new initiative is the $150,000 partnership between DOGS and Best Friends Animals Society, where the nonprofit supports homeless animals of the United States.

DOGS founder Andrew has said in one of his statements that this step is a call to action for the crypto community to contribute to a future where each shelter reaches a 90% no-kill benchmark by 2025. The collaboration ensures one month of care for adopted dogs.

Pavel Durov – Telegram Co-founder

The inspiration for the memecoin came from Pavel’s iconic drawing of a dog as a global symbol of Digital Resistance and a TON post his August’s arrest in France. The dog symbol recalls 2011 when Durov was ordered to eradicate all his posts of liberal thinkers and dissidents.

Launch of an Airdrop

The token launched an airdrop and ended up reaching 17 million users in September. Telegram’s Dogs Mini App’s users surpassed 53 million, where 42 million were eligible for the token airdrop. The aim was to increase crypto awareness on Telegram, the messaging platform, and also promote animal welfare.

Spotty – Icon for The Open Network (TON)

Coming to the recently formed partnership, Spotty, the DOGS’ mascot, will be the ambassador for Best Friends Animal Society and will appear in events as well as marketing materials. Spotty was conceived by Pavel Durov as part of a charity auction.
