Bitget Wallet, a leading non-custodial crypto wallet provider, has announced a significant upgrade that will connect Telegram Mini Apps to a broader Web3 ecosystem. On September 27, Bitget Wallet disclosed that the OmniConnect SDK allows Mini Apps to utilize Bitget Wallet for transactions and signatures across various blockchain networks. Previously, Telegram Mini Apps were limited to The Open Network (TON), but this integration aims to transform Telegram into a comprehensive gateway to Web3, facilitating a smoother transition from Web2.
Alvin Kan, the Chief Operating Officer of Bitget Wallet, emphasized the significance of this development. He stated, "Previously, Telegram Mini Apps could only interact with the TON network, making it difficult to engage with other public chains. Bitget Wallet’s OmniConnect bridges this gap, enabling seamless multichain interaction via Bitget Wallet."
This integration is expected to enhance accessibility to decentralized technologies for over a billion Telegram users, providing an efficient way to interact with multiple blockchains. Bitget Wallet has already established deep integration within the Telegram and TON ecosystems, partnering with major projects like Tomarket, Catizen, and Yescoin.
The wallet provider was the first to extend MPC keyless wallet support to the TON mainnet and has developed trading bots for Telegram, offering multi-chain trading and zero-gas fee experiences on TON DApps. In August 2024 alone, Bitget Wallet saw nearly 2 million downloads, making it the most downloaded wallet globally according to App Store and Google Play data.
Looking ahead, Bitget Wallet plans to announce further initiatives to empower the Telegram Mini App ecosystem and deepen integration with Telegram. These efforts aim to benefit both platforms and the broader builder community, driving mass adoption of Web3 by simplifying access through its MPC keyless wallet, which allows secure logins using familiar methods like email, Apple ID, Google accounts, and Telegram.
With over 30 million global users, Bitget Wallet continues to expand its features, integrating social functionalities and connecting with multichain ecosystems, solidifying its position as a crucial infrastructure in the Web3 space.
