Assetera Launches Secondary Market for RWA on Polygon
Assetera has launched Europe’s first blockchain-based regulated secondary market for tokenized real-world assets (RWAs) on the Polygon network. Regulated by the Austrian Financial Market Authority, the platform will offer various tokenized financial instruments such as securities, money market instruments, fund units, and derivatives, alongside tokenized RWAs like real estate and art. Assetera is set to attract retail, professional, and institutional clients by providing an accessible and liquid market for these assets.
Always-On Trading with Atomic Swaps
Assetera will execute its trading activities directly on the Polygon network, utilizing stablecoins for purchases, clearing, and settlements through atomic swaps. This means trading can take place 24/7 without manual intervention, bringing a new level of efficiency and liquidity to asset trading. According to CEO Thomas Labenbacher, the platform opens up “a world of possibilities for asset owners and investors,” offering liquidity and accessibility like never before. Assetera’s use of Polygon’s Proof-of-Stake mechanism ensures the platform scales efficiently without sacrificing security or regulatory compliance.
Strong Compliance and Partnerships
To maintain strong regulatory compliance, Assetera operates under a comprehensive MiFID II license and a Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) license, ensuring that its activities are in line with European regulations. The platform also partners with top-tier firms like Sumsub, Chainalysis, and Fireblocks for Anti-Money Laundering (AML) measures. Additionally, it supports both custodial and non-custodial wallets, and plans to introduce bank-managed wallets in the future.
Assetera’s launch comes as Europe strengthens its crypto regulations under MiCA. With stablecoin provisions already in effect, Assetera is positioned as a leader in the tokenized asset space, offering regulated, accessible, and liquid trading options for both traditional and crypto assets.
