Aptos Labs Acquires HashPalette

On October 3, HashPalette announced its decision to become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Aptos Labs, following an agreement with its previous owner, HashPort Inc. As part of the acquisition, the Palette Chain blockchain and existing HashPalette applications will migrate to the Aptos Network. This transition is expected to provide enhanced scalability, security, and developer tools for the existing Palette Chain ecosystem.

Aptos Labs, the innovation arm of the Aptos Foundation, sees this acquisition as a vital step in expanding its presence in Asia. The company plans to leverage HashPalette’s relationships with Japanese businesses, positioning itself as a gateway to some of Japan’s most influential companies. This integration aims to support local Web3 participants, including developers, NFT creators, and enterprises.

Empowering Japanese Enterprises with Blockchain Technology

Aptos Labs, developer of the Aptos Network, is set to acquire HashPalette Inc., a Japanese NFT service provider, to expand its presence in Asia. This acquisition includes migrating HashPalette’s Palette Chain blockchain and applications to the Aptos Network.

Mo Shaikh, CEO of Aptos Labs, highlights this move as vital for empowering Japanese enterprises and developers with advanced blockchain technology, aligning with Japan’s pro-blockchain stance under Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba. HashPort will continue supporting its enterprise clients using Aptos’ infrastructure. The acquisition, pending regulatory approvals, also involves Aptos Labs powering the EXPO2025 DIGITAL WALLET in Osaka.

Additionally, Aptos has partnered with Franklin Templeton to host the Franklin OnChain US Government Money Fund (FOBXX) on its blockchain, transitioning from Stellar. This marks a significant milestone for Aptos Labs in revolutionizing the blockchain landscape in Japan and beyond, fostering Web3 innovation and growth.
