Trump Appoints New Crypto and AI Leaders to Shape U.S. Digital Policy

Donald Trump has announced two key appointments to his newly formed presidential Council of Advisers for Digital Assets, aimed at enhancing the nation’s approach to crypto and AI. Bo Hines, a Yale graduate, will serve as the Executive Director of the council, working under David Sacks, who heads the group. Hines brings legal and political experience to the role. Additionally, Sriram Krishnan, a former general partner at Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), has been appointed as the senior AI policy advisor. Krishnan, known for his work at Microsoft on Windows Azure, will focus on shaping AI policy at the White House.

Robert Kiyosaki, author of Rich Dad Poor Dad, has raised alarms about an impending global market crash, which he believes could lead to a depression. In a recent post, he highlighted economic struggles in Europe, China, and the U.S. and advised people to safeguard their wealth with assets like gold, silver, and Bitcoin. Kiyosaki also suggested that economic downturns might present opportunities for wealth-building, urging investors to stay prepared.

Metaplanet Boosts Bitcoin Holdings by 56% with $60M Purchase

Metaplanet, Japan’s equivalent to MicroStrategy, has acquired an additional 619.7 BTC valued around $60.7 million), marking its largest single purchase to date. This increase brings its total holdings to 1,762 BTC, valued at around $168 million. The purchase comes amid a dip in Bitcoin’s price near $95,000, and the company reports a 309% yield on its holdings for Q4. The purchase reflects the increasing institutional adoption of Bitcoin in Japan and globally, particularly as investor interest continues to rise.

Ripple CLO Urges Trump Administration to End SEC’s “Lawless Lawsuit”

On the fourth anniversary of the SEC's lawsuit against Ripple, CLO Stuart Alderoty called for its end, criticizing the “lawless lawsuit” targeting Ripple and its executives. Alderoty urged the incoming Donald Trump administration to address the damages caused by former SEC official William Hinman, whose conflicting regulatory statements have caused confusion in the crypto industry, particularly in the Ripple case. The call reflects ongoing frustration over regulatory uncertainty in the crypto space.
