Verge is a cryptocurrency and blockchain that focuses on privacy. Its goal is to provide a fast, efficient, decentralised payments network that is better than the original Bitcoin (BTC) blockchain. Justin Valo, also known as "Justin Vendetta" or "Sunerok," a developer with more than 20 years of experience in network security and almost a decade in blockchain technology, started Verge in 2016. He first made cryptocurrency as a fun hobby project to give people all over the world a better sense of privacy.

According to its "blackpaper," Verge was made so that Satoshi Nakamoto, the creator of Bitcoin, could realise his dream of a decentralised, trustless electronic payment system, while also giving users more privacy than Bitcoin does.
