Tezos is a cryptocurrency developed by Arthur Breitman, a former Morgan Stanley analyst. It is a smart contract platform that does not engage in Tezos coin mining. It is a blockchain similar to Ethereum that hosts smart contracts. It allows the community to vote on its issues and fix them. Any token holder is allowed to assign their voting privileges to other network participants. The coin makes use of a generic network shell that supports many consensus and transaction protocols that a blockchain has to be compatible with. The source code is written in OCaml, a quick, adaptable, and functional programming language that should be appropriate for an ambitious project and its technical specifications.
Tezos' proof-of-stake consensus mechanism differs from delegated proof-of-stake (dPOS), which is also known as liquid proof-of-stake.
Tezos' liquid proof-of-stake focuses on addressing the gap between security and decentralisation while maintaining the benefits of delegated proof-of-stake. In Tezos, the staking procedure is known as "baking." Bakers who make deposits will be compensated for joining up and producing blocks on this blockchain. However, if a baker engages in any inappropriate activity, the deposits will be lost.
Tezos successfully released their primary network in 2018, after being delayed due to corporate governance issues. The network's founders have also said on their blog that because it uses new blockchain technology, unexpected problems may still happen and impact the network.
