The team at Solana is committed to providing a secure,

reliable, and efficient blockchain platform

To that end, they are exploring a variety of ways to enhance their existing technology. Solana is also looking to expand its reach by partnering with other blockchain projects. This will allow them to leverage the strengths of each platform to create a more robust and comprehensive blockchain solution.

After a network-wide slowdown left users in a state of panic, Solana unveiled plans to enhance its most recent network upgrade.

The Solana network experienced a noticeable slowdown in block production following its most recent 1.14 network update on February 25th. In response to the transaction disruptions, validators quickly downgraded the software to improve performance levels.

On February 28th, Anatoly Yakovenko, the founder and CEO of Solana Labs, released a statement outlining the ecosystem's plan to enhance its recent network upgrades. The primary focus of the plan is on stability as the network continues its transition to a more reliable and efficient system.

In response to the recent Solana outage, Yakovenko laid out a six-step plan to help streamline the process and ensure network-wide stability. This plan included the formation of an adversarial team, comprising one-third of the Solana engineering team, to build additional hooks and instrumentation into the validator code and target exploits throughout the underlying protocols.

Additionally, Jump Crypto’s firedancer team and Mango DAO developers are building new tooling and implementing local fee markets to help improve the system.

Yakovenko also clarified that on-chain voting was not the cause of the slowdown and that an investigation of the initial outage is still being conducted. The community response to the outage was mixed, with some users expressing relief at the improvement roadmap, while others still questioned Solana’s integrity.

The Solana Ecosystem Call is scheduled for March 2, 2023, during which the state of the ecosystem and other pertinent topics will be discussed. On March 27, the Helium Network's communications protocol is set to migrate to the Solana blockchain in order to deploy oracles.

This migration will be a major milestone in the development of the Solana ecosystem and will open up a world of possibilities for the future.
