The Eigen Foundation is set to lift the transfer restrictions on the EIGEN token on September 30th, 2024. This marks a significant milestone in the evolution of EIGEN, bringing new opportunities for stakeholders and contributors. It’s important to note that there is a 7-day withdrawal period for those who have staked their EIGEN tokens. This delay is essential for maintaining the security and integrity of the network.
Staking EIGEN: Securing Actively Validated Services
EIGEN can be staked to secure Actively Validated Services (AVSs) on the EigenLayer protocol, complementing ETH staking. Currently, you can stake EIGEN to secure EigenDA, with more AVS options coming soon. Staked EIGEN is eligible for future stakedrop rewards and AVS fees.
