Venus is an algorithmic money market and stablecoin protocol that was launched only on Binance Smart Chain (BSC).
The protocol gives the decentralised finance (DeFi) ecosystem an easy-to-use solution for lending and borrowing crypto assets. This lets users directly borrow against collateral quickly while losing less money on transaction fees. Venus also lets users mint VAI stablecoins on demand within seconds by posting at least 200% collateral to the Venus smart contract.
VAI tokens are fake BEP-20 token assets that are tied to the value of one U.S. dollar (USD). On the other hand, XVS tokens are also based on BEP-20, but they are used to govern the Venus protocol and vote on changes, such as adding new collateral types, changing parameters, and making plans for product improvements.
The Venus founders, team members, and other advisors don't have any XVS tokens, so they don't have any say in how the protocol is run. Instead, the XVS community does.
The Swipe project team is in charge of making progress on the Venus project. The main goal of Venus is to get rid of centralised power by letting people run their own communities. There are no pre-mines for the team, developers, or founders. This means that people who own XVS have full control over where the Venus Protocol goes.
